HowQuicklyTwoAndTwenty890 · 06/02/2021 08:14

I love menu threads. :) (And have started more than a few)

For us

Saturday lunch- naice ham sandwiches and picnic food in front of the tv
Dinner- Roast chicken with brussel sprouts, honey carrots, roast potatos and cheesy leeks

Sunday

Italian meatball pasta soup (lunch)

Chicken stuffed pancakes

I was inspired by the throwing away the chicken thread and simply had to make chicken this week!

Sounds yummy. Afraid I can't meaningfully contribute as I don't even know what I'm having for breakfast yet but my birthday is coming up so next weekend we are having homemade (by a home bakery...not us!!) And I might also cook a full Christmas dinner with all the trimmings- just because

HowQuicklyTwoAndTwenty890 · 06/02/2021 08:18

Happy Birthday!!!

What a fabulous idea cooking a full Christmas dinner! We sort of missed Christmas this year as we were all slightly unwell (regular colds). I like your thinking!!

Homemade chicken curry tonight ( I made the curry sauce base this week).
Sunday is flat sausage in a roll for breakfast, no lunch, then a lamb roast for dinner.

Yesterday we had;

Homemade pumpkin soup with homemade wholemeal bread for lunch.

Dinner was falafel with roasted baby potatoes, aubergine, tomatoes and red onions with cumin and paprika. My DH had a slice of banana bread with chocolate ice cream for pudding, I had some honeydew melon.

Today will be;

Soft boiled eggs and wholemeal toast for lunch, followed by fruit and Greek yogurt.

Roasted cod with lemon and the leftover spiced veg from yesterday for dinner.

I also need to bake bread today. Smile

HowQuicklyTwoAndTwenty890 · 06/02/2021 08:24

Oh i love love love pumpkin soup. Growing up my parents were baffled because I adored pumpkin soup but hated pumpkin. Now I love pumpkin in all its forms.

I am making notes. I love getting new ideas as i tend to stick to my same old rotation of meals.

Even though I've just had breakfast, I'm getting hungry reading all of your menus Grin

We've just had huevos rancheros and flour tortilla for breakfast.

Afternoon tea later, I'm on finger sandwiches (rare roast beef and horseradish, coronation chicken, egg and cress, ham and mustard), and scones (with clotted cream obviously!). DS is making a cake.

Dinner I've got some beluga caviar that never got eaten at Christmas, so we'll have that with blinis, quails' eggs, soured cream and chopped chives.

Then an Andalusian slow-cooked oxtail with home made fries.

DH is making some complicated pudding involving lychee sorbet, confit apricots and ginger cream.

Sunday, cooked brunch will all the usual.

Dinner is roast chicken, pigs in blankets, stuffing, bread sauce, roast potatoes, spring greens, glazed carrots and purple sprouting brocoli.

I think I'll make a steamed syrup pudding and custard for pudding.

I like a bit of weekend cooking!

badlydrawnbear · 06/02/2021 10:56

Breakfast today: I had toast, DC had pancakes (the kind you get in a packet and put in the microwave, not the kind I have to make)
Lunch: I don't know, will see what we fancy in a hour or so
Dinner: DH is making something called Green Gratin from the new cookbook he bought yesterday.

Tomorrow I will eat a slice of toast when I get home from my nightshift, DH will sort out DC breakfast and lunch, then I will make a spicy tomato risotto for dinner.

StepAwayFromTheEcclesCakes · 06/02/2021 10:57

Breakfast was fruit, yoghurt and weetabix
Lunch will be salad and dinner is a bean casserole with baked eggs

UsernameTaken76 · 06/02/2021 11:29

Saturday
Breakfast- sausage, bacon & egg sandwiches from the new cafe that’s opened down the road
No lunch
Dinner - chicken burgers, sweet potato fries and salad or veg. Followed by ice cream and brownies

Sunday
Breakfast - baked oats using white chocolate spread and fruit
Lunch - takeaway roast dinner (chicken for me & pork for DH) and dessert from the same place (sticky toffee pudding for me & DH has something chocolatey)

We eat much better during the week honest! But weekend is a chance to indulge and I’m studying today so need something to reward myself afterwards!
