And I quite like the look of their dinners!

I always find it interesting to (attempt to discretely) look at what the person in front of me has on the supermarket conveyor belt. Back when you could get close enough to do such a thing.

I have similar food taste to the person who wrote the shopping list... minus the tuna!

imonyourway · 06/02/2021 03:34

Wonder where they are going on Thursday?
What is this 'out' they talk about?

And what will they eat Friday?

Good question.

Friends of mine have taken to getting a takeaway and driving somewhere to eat it in the car. Date night during a pandemic!

AndIquote · 06/02/2021 03:48

I don't know but they must not be coming back till Saturday.
We used to play a shopping list game. Find a list (usually left in a trolley) and other person had to guess what was on it.

SpottyNeck · 06/02/2021 04:01

If it was my list I wouldn't have specified 'Tuna in Springwater' because I'd know exactly what tuna I usually buy. I'd know not to get tuna in brine or sunflower oil.

SpottyNeck · 06/02/2021 04:02

So they've been quite precise with the 'Tuna in Springwater' but not with 'Biscuits'. I wonder what biscuits they chose.

I did wonder if someone had written it for someone else to shop. They haven't crossed off all the items. It is a possibility if I gave my dh a list it would come back without a few things.....he always insists 'he looked everywhere but they don't sell that'.

Is it a bit like 'Through the keyhole' when you try to guess what sort of person would shop like this?

PandemicAtTheDisco · 06/02/2021 04:14

That was often my ex's excuse or he'd come back with something completely different. I send him out for rice at the last minute as he'd forgotten it the day before. He came back with pasta or mexican rice or rice pudding. I'd been cooking my special curry that he'd requested and bought the ingredients for the previous day.

MrWendel · 06/02/2021 04:18

What is the 'box water' on their list (second item down, on the left hand side)? Water biscuits?!

ElaineMarieBenes · 06/02/2021 04:57

Thursday they are ‘out out’ and Friday is a takeaway!

maddiemookins16mum · 06/02/2021 05:41

I wish my handwriting was this nice.

Ifailed · 06/02/2021 05:57

What is the 'box water'
It's code for Box of wine - author is a secret drinker and hides it in the shed.

Roystonv · 06/02/2021 06:07

Slightly concerned they are having fish two days in a row, poor meal planning according to my 1970's domestic science teacher!

rockinaftermidnite · 06/02/2021 06:16

Nachos wouldn't be enough as a meal for my teens. I've never tasted halloumi... what's it like?

Interesting thought but it's probably something like this.

@anameIcallmyself you're Australian?

I wouldn't have fish cakes followed by salmon...two fish in two days

Divebar2021 · 06/02/2021 07:31

I wouldn’t mind fish 2 days in a row. I’m not sure about halloumi bake though... what do you think is in that? I do enjoy a finding a good shopping list though.

bellagogosdead · 06/02/2021 07:41

Also confused by the box water.

Schmooopy · 06/02/2021 07:50

Halloumi bake sounds nice

Duckyneedsaclean · 06/02/2021 07:56

I reckon the chicken thighs are for pulled chicken to beef up the nachos @rockinaftermidnite

Riapia · 06/02/2021 08:21

Item on a shopping list left in trolley.

Perfumed wipes ( for ladies bottoms!! )

This was a few years ago, I wondered what the owner was like.

Whyever not? Genuine question.

I like fish so eat it a lot. Salmon and fish cakes two days running seems perfectly normal to me.
