Finally people who've put into song what the rest of us are feeling

@Chocomel my teen rolls his eyes when I am watching the video, no way would he agree to join us doing something like that. Mind with our musical talent we would go viral for the wrong reasons!

They are great!

(And how I wish I weren't only good at admin)

Fifthtimelucky · 06/02/2021 11:58

I love them too, especially the way the children are so natural.

Slackarse · 06/02/2021 12:43

Thanks for sharing, this was absolutely brilliant. I can’t remember the last time I laughed loud.

That's what really struck me - the fact that the older boys are happy to take part. I'm impressed just by that!!!

Mind you the oldest boy had an excellent singing voice - the rest of the family aren't' exactly terrible either.

Disappointed with my children's talents now Grin

seriousandloyal · 06/02/2021 13:00

What a talented family! Enjoyed that.

Scarby9 · 06/02/2021 13:04

They do have music in the genes at least, so I expect the dad grew up singing round the house too.
I think the dad's mum is Lin Marsh. Her name will be very familiar to anyone in school music as she wrote a lot of the stuff we sing. www.fabermusic.com/we-represent/lin-marsh

And the children have both really grown since Les Mis at the start of the first lockdown (no surprise there) but also really matured as singers. I suppose they have had plenty of time to practise - I wish I had spent the pandemic so effectively...

Lifeispassingby · 06/02/2021 13:41

The family live locally to me and are fairly well known even before the lockdown. I was always under the impression they were musical before

ssd · 06/02/2021 13:58

What did they do that they were well known for @Lifeispassingby?

Dogsaresomucheasier · 06/02/2021 14:20

I wish my kids would collaborate like this. They are great fun.

Mine wouldn't either. I couldn't pay them enough.

Loved this - the interpretive dance was excellent and the banter at the end:

We’re here all week

Mum - not we are not!!!

littlemisslozza · 06/02/2021 21:33

I love it! Some of the lyrics are spot on and they all have beautiful voices.

Favourite lyrics are 'once upon a time we'd go hiking for miles, now we can be arsed with the park' and the line about how they used to sing songs from Les Mis and now it's eighties songs from the charts, the dad and son harmonising together is wonderful.

Also love the 'I know them too well' parody. 'I could have done things differently, had a few less children, who can tell?' 😂 Great voices.
