Gentlest way of dealing with facial hair?

My kids have inherited my dark hair/white skin combination and DD1 is slowly starting to have noticeable facial hair on her upper lip. I just use tweezers on mine, but I wondered what people think is the gentlest way of removing it, that will cause the least skin damage long term? Has anyone tried those home laser thingies (like the Philips Lumea - I understand we have the ideal skin/hair colour combination)?

I have a lumea and it's fab on my body hair but not so good on facial hair but I think this is because my facial hair is finer and lighter than my body hair. I currently use an epilator and tweezers for facial hair which at first are painful but then you get used to them. When I was a teen I used jolene bleach.
