Fag ends, is this Ok?

I live opposite a school, brings its moments re parking but is generally OK.

Recently, the same car has been parking outside my house all day, presumably a member of staff. Absolutely fine, parked legally and considerately. Except he's a smoker and there are fag ends everywhere.

I know some people don't see putting out a cigarette in the same way as littering but there are masses off them, all in this same spot where he parks his car.

Is that OK? And if not, would you care enough to say anything?

I think it is littering. Could the school remind parents not to do this?

I don't think it is a parent. The car's there all day, it must be a member of staff.

If I was going to mention it to anyone, I'd arrange to be "passing" as he was stood there smoking and make some sort of "lighthearted" comment, at least initially, before making it in any way official.

It is littering but not sure if I would mention it or not. Around here we have environmental officers watching and swooping on this sort of thing.

I'd do this. It's really PA but easier than engineering accidentally bumping into them and a "lighthearted joke" about it.

Yep, this. I did this to a neighbour who used to walk along to our balcony to smoke and dropped all his fag ends where he stood. They were swept up and left on his doorstep. He either buggered off elsewhere to smoke or cleared up after himself following this, all I know is I never saw a stinking fag end again after that.

In a bag on the door handle or under the windscreen wiper. Or hand the bag over to him in person.....you seem to have dropped these I collected them for you!
