Does Anyone Else Have An Overflowing Freezer?!

The idea was to start eating stuff to make a bit of space but I will keep buying “ bargains”. I now have loads of ready meals & it seems like a juggling act every time I shop & try to fit in chips, bags of peas etc. I have a big American style fridge/freezer but it’s actually really quite shallow & I wouldn’t buy one again. I do a meal plan every week & at least 2 days will be “ freezer tea”! Can anyone identify?

We tackeld ours by doing an inventory and then dercreeing that every day we had to make a meal using at least one item from the freezer. The inventory really helps as it's so easy to lose track otherwise

Our problem is, we buy fresh then it gets close to its date for what ever reason, so we put it in the freezer never to be seen again.

Then repeat the cycle every week.

You just need to start using it and stop adding to it. The stuff is going to spoil if you don't.
Just do an audit, stick a list on the front of the freezer, and use 2 items a day.

Yep, and I have a huge freezer with just me in the house.
I need to eat out of it instead of buying more.

We have three freezers jam packed full of meat. We get given stuff faster than we can eat it.

Someone appears to have hijacked your thread OP.

Confused

Have you considered an "unblock my freezer" spell?
😂

We have the same issue with both the freezer style and our inability to empty it.
We're supposed to be moving house in a couple of weeks and keep filling the bloody thing up. Just can't resist a 'bargain' that will end up being thrown away anyway if the house move goes ahead.

Ignoring the batshit spam above, we have a freezer full of food. Crammed full. But for some reason there never seems to be anything you can actually make a meal out of, it's all odd sausage rolls, single bits of fish or chicken, nameless sauces and bags of frozen blackberries, breadcrumbs and whatnot. Gets on my wick. We do occasionally have Freezer Tapas for dinner, and I think we need another sort-out.

I can identify OP.
My freezer is in the garage, a handy halfway point between kitchen and bin.

Whistle73 · 05/02/2021 16:16

Totally identify. DH is a nightmare for buying reduced loaves of bread and burger buns for 5p. Great except it all takes up so much space!
