Hi there,
I've been exploring getting back into my arty side during lockdowns and need some advice on what is the best way forward with some drawings etc, can anyone offer any advice on the following;

if I have some drawings (think cartoony icon images) on paper what is the best way to convert these to digital?

I'm thinking abut investing in either in iPAD Pro or MS Surface Pro for learning digital drawing going forward - (I've heard Surface Pro is better as its easier to scale vectors)

I have so many ideas in my head and I'm just struggling to see how to convert these to online without losing the quality of the image (and I'm such a novice). I am doing a couple of online courses in Graphic Design and Adobe Photoshop Illustrator, and just wondered what others do (I don't really have artclub type friends to ask).

Any advice gratefully received!

Sounds like your considering the right devices....is CAD software not what you need? Maybe a pro will be along shortly...

Professional here - I highly recommend Affinity Designer for starters - it's also good enough for the industry! I have completed lots of projects using this software whilst waiting for access to Adobe illustrator...

One off payment of £23... affinity.serif.com/en-gb/designer/

Loads of great tutorials....

Generally, I trace over my illustrations using the pen tool as then I can tweak as I go but on Adobe Illustrator, you can use Object/Image Trace if you have a good quality version of your drawing you can scan into your computer.
