What is the lowest key way possible to get married?

Hi all,

Just that really.

If we had a choice we’d receive the papers through the post, sign them and send them back!

We’re in love, have great friend and family and one DC. We want to be married for the financial security and because we’d like to provide our DC with the security it would provide, particularly before ttc a sibling. However, we are in no way whatsoever interested in having any kind of fanfare. We just want to be married on paper.

Does anyone know how that’s achievable in the lowest key way possible?

By going to a Register Office mid-week. You can have a ceremony that is just the legal wording with nothing flowery about it. Don't get dressed up or exchange rings. Ask randoms on the street to be your witnesses if you don't want to tell any friends or family.
