Can anyone help with my awful coat pockets?

Random last ditch plea for help before i throw away a perfectly good coat.
The zips on the pockets keep getting caught on the lining and trapping whatever I’ve managed to put in there-phone, keys, dog treats, poo bags etc. inside.
It’s so frustrating! I can just about poke my fingers in and retrieve the items but it’s uncomfortable and annoying.
I know the answer is probably not to put things in the pockets but then the coat is pretty useless.

What about sewing the bit of the lining to either itself or the other side? I've got one like that and there is too much lining to it pops up and gets caught.

Ah ok that might work. I could try and fold it in on itself and sew it. Amazing. Thank you!

If you've got a good local tailors they might do it for you. We have one that does small alterations for £4 each and it's brilliant!
