Part time to full time- good idea?

Currently work three days, a temp post has came up which would mean an extra two days: I would like the money and the challenge of some extra work I've worked part time since my daughter was born 7 years ago. Have a three year old too so wasnt thinking too much about full time until he went to school, but this extra work is in my dept, I know the people involved etc so it seems like a good chance to earn more money and try and get in to the routine of full time work again. Just feel bad about missing time with my youngest, when I've always been off two days with my older child. 😭 I may not even get the job obviously! DH is supportive of me going for it, we can organise childcare for the two days, I just don't know what to do!!

Why not? Just go for it

Go for it. There will still be plenty of time to spend with your little one if you manage your time right - which you will do. Seize the opportunity while it is there (unless of course you really don't want to - but I'd you don't you would know that deep down)

I went from part time back to full time just before my son turned 3 as a similar internal opportunity came up and it worked out great. I had the option to compress hours so still had one day a week off would something like that he an option if you were successful? Financially it put us in a much better position, we got a cleaner and I think I made more effort on our days together as they were precious.
