Hiya im wondering if anyone could help me i plan on calling my daughter Evelyn but im stuck on her middle name. Her last name is very long and has 3 Syllables. Any suggestions appreciated

Will Evelyn be pronounced like Christmas Eve or like Ever?

It’s not Ever Lyn though 😳.
It’s either Ev e Lyn or Eve Lyn.
And spelled Evelyn.
It’s lovely.
I’d pronounce it Ev e Lyn.
And on that point I’d say

It’s spelt Evelyn and I would pronounce it ‘ever Lyn’

Rose, May, only two I can think of

Instinctive choice: Rose
Unless there’s a personal reason for a particular one syllable name.
Check that the initials look ok before a definite decision!

I had a Great Aunt Eve Lyn, and on the other side of the family a Great Aunt Ev Lyn

Neither of them were pronounced Ever Lyn or Ev a Lyn

Anyway, I like Rose for a middle name whichever way you pronounce Evelyn or spell Evelyn

Everlyn isn't a name though

I'm Scottish so I pronounce it Ev-lyn with no extra syllable in the middle. It's a beautiful name and it's on my shortlist if I ever have a girl.
