After a couple of weeks from hell and having had four teeth removed today I really need something fun.

We love The Office (US), Parks & Rec, 30 Rock, Party Down, Arrested Development, Spaced, 2012 and W1A... tried Schitt’s Creek and didn’t find it funny.

Is there anything great we might have missed?

Studio 60 on Sunset Strip if you can find it
Community on Netflix

The Rock remakes of Baywatch and Jumamji made me laugh, maybe not proper laugh out loud but definitely entertaining.

Tuscadero · 04/02/2021 19:19

I'm another who always laughs when watching New Girl. Usually at Schmidt.

Kdubs1981 · 04/02/2021 19:19

Catastrophe!!

DoCVideoCall · 04/02/2021 19:19

And What We Do In The Shadows, the TV show. Absolutely brilliant.

Tuscadero · 04/02/2021 19:20

I can't be bothered with Schitt's Creek because everyone's said 'oh it only gets good in series 3'.

no thanks!

I'd suggest going old school: Gregory's Girl or Airplane.

Flamingo25 · 04/02/2021 19:24

Brooklyn 99 and definitely Superstore-
Laugh out loud funny!

Stick with Schitts Creek, I assure you it gets better. I thought the first half a dozen episodes were a bit meh but it just got funnier and funnier, plus I totally fell in love with all the characters and was bereft when it finished.
Other than that, have you seen What We Do In The Shadows? The film was really good, but the spin off series on the BBC was absolutely hilarious!
Santa Clarita Diet was quite funny although more of a black comedy.
Community is good, I've dipped in and out of it while my teens were watching.
Brooklyn Nine Nine
And one of my old favourites from 20 odd years ago, that still makes me howl, is Coupling.

MimsyBorogroves · 04/02/2021 19:28

The Goes Wrong Show.

I am enjoying Superstore on netflix, it is funny, the episodes are short, I can watch it when I am tired (no need to concentrate).

Otherplans · 04/02/2021 19:32

Another vote for What we do in the shadows! Genius.

OxfordCat · 04/02/2021 19:32

This way up is great! It's humour mixed with pathos.

JovialNickname · 04/02/2021 19:32

Death to 2020 on Netflix is great - gave me the first belly laugh I've had in a long time! A star studded cast too, Samuel L. Jackson, Hugh Grant, Laurence Fishbourne, Lisa Kudrow, Diane Morgan and Charlie Brooker all feature.

StealingYourWiFi · 04/02/2021 19:32

This Country bbc iplayer

RedLimoncello · 04/02/2021 19:34

Great News on Netflix. I think someone on here recommended it to me and I did genuinely cry laughing several times watching. So good.

jewel1968 · 04/02/2021 19:35

King of Staten Island

Lifeinaonesie · 04/02/2021 19:37

Silicon valley is hilarious, so so good. But not sure what it's on, possibly Netflix?

thefourgp · 04/02/2021 19:40

I know it’s not the same genre but Would I Lie To You on bbc iplayer. It always makes me laugh. I love the banter between David, Lee and Rob. Lee Mack is so quick with his funny replies.

I really enjoyed Death to 2020.

Life in Pieces - I loved this so much, watched it twice as I was gutted I came to the end.

ouchmyfeet · 04/02/2021 19:46

The Righteous Gemstones is hilarious. It's on sky

Grits · 04/02/2021 19:46

I'm watching Chewing Gum on all 4 at the moment, which is really funny. Wanted to watch it because of I May Destroy You (iplayer), which is def not a comedy but absolutely fantastic.

On Netflix - Love is a good sitcom series, it also has the guy who was the creepy brother in law in Fleabag in it and he's gross/hilarious in this too. If you've not watched fleabag then it's on iplayer and definitely worth a watch. On Netflix I just watched a movie called Booksmart which was similar to Superbad but with teenage girls, made me feel a little old but was very funny. Finally, a bit festive but there's a Norwegian series called Home for Christmas which I absolutely loved, it was sweet but quite quirky and it made me want to live in Norway!

AngeliqueDePeyrac · 04/02/2021 19:48

Broad City
Unbreakable Kimmy schmidt
Green wing (old but fantastically quirky)
Another vote for Superstore as well

Ladybird69 · 04/02/2021 19:52

Please stick with schitt$ creek. The first season isn’t that great but it sets it all up. I couldn’t see the appeal when I first started watching it. But I rewatched it and while it’s not laugh out loud funny it is funny, sweet and heartwarming and for me it was like a big comfy blanket, just what I needed during lockdown and I too was bereft when it ended. I really really missed it and wanted more.
