Buying a house

I'm a FTB and hoping to move in a month or 2. The place needs a new bathroom and some other work before moving in. How do I go about getting this done quickly? I will only have a month's leeway once I complete so it needs to be done quite quickly. Can I get quotes once I know completion date?! Can I book things in? Sorry for the potentially silly questions!

Nothing is likely to go wrong as place is empty.

You can get quotes before exchange if the vendor is willing to allow the builders in. You should get at least 3 quotes for any work.
Be honest with them you are in the process of purchasing and expected exchange and completion dates. Those not willing to take the risk will decline but plenty will quote on that basis.
The better idea of what you want and can afford the quicker the work will happen.

Oh and build in a contingency on both the price and the time. For instance the builder due to fit a gate for me this week has had 2 tradesmen off ill and another lost his mother to Covid this week - so what should have happened this week will happen next now.
