Long story short, I lent money to a 'friend'/business contact who was suffering due to the pandemic and had difficult circumstances, or so I thought. In a nutshell, she was having me on and I won't be getting the money back. I can do without the money, but I feel very stupid.
The fact is that I have been luckier than some in the pandemic and wanted to help out, but I was clearly naive. And not seeing the danger signs bcos have been rather busy these last few months. Has this happened to anyone else?
