Is one enough or is it true that more are merrier?

Hello all,

I'm looking for your experiences with how many children you have. I have one at the moment who I absolutely adore. I'm an only child and I always wanted siblings. I'm old enough that if I want more children, I need to get on with it. I'm finding it tricky to know whether to try for another child. I'm looking for your wonderful stories and anecdotes about what you love / like less about having one child or more than one. I can see benefits to having one like being able to give all my time, attention, money etc to my one and can see benefits to having 2 - having someone to play with etc but I'm sure there are lots of pros and cons as well as hilarious consequences to being a one or a two child family that I haven't thought of so I'd love to hear your thoughts to add to my thinking. Ultimately I know it's our decision (my husband and I) and I know nature might have it's own ideas about how many children we can have but some super Mumsnet experience would be most useful.

Sending a cheery smile to all Smile and many thanks for your time
