What can we do to add structure to the day??

Myself and dp have been furloughed for the best part of the last year and have been ticking by ok so far.

A few weeks ago dp's mum passed away, and we are now hyper aware of having so much time in the day with nothing to do. His brother and his stepdad are both back to work now and are feeling so much better for it, by getting back to 'normal'

Volounteering/second job is difficult as we are on flexible furlough, so need to be available on short notice if needed by work. So cant really commit more than a day or so in advance.

But i really feel that dp needs something to get him up and out of the house to help him feel more normal. What can we do??

There are some historic places with open gardens that are still open and can be visited. Other than supermarkets, walking, gardening, diy, chores, volunteering, lots of free online courses online....there isn't much we can do.

I'm sorry for your losses.

I think you both need to give yourselves a bit of structure for your data. So, set your alarm in the morning to get up. It doesn't have to be really early, but enough of a challenge to make you get up. Timetable key times throughout the day and work around those, eg mealtimes and force yourself to stick to those schedules. Plan daily exercise eg doing for a walk or Couch to 5k.

Plan a few chores for your day and also a few fun things to do. Learn a new skill eg you can learn a new language via free apps like Duolingo, read a book, learn to juggle or do a Rubix cube (YouTube).

Meals at set times might help. Going for a walk each day. Learning something new I agree with.

Sorry to read of your loss.

Maybe plan some activities.

Daily walk
Try a new recipe
Joe wick workout
Watch an episode of Line of Duty at 11am everyday.

Have a mixture of set activities and free-time.

Are there any odd jobs that need doing?

Getting fresh air is probably top of the list, whether it’s a ten minute walk, or a two hour hike.
