I’m currently looking at residential colleges for my ds1. A friend today told me to avoid them as apparently she knows someone who had a dc at one and the residential home they were as part of the college was closed down. As it wasn’t properly registered. Would this be something that would actually happen? Surely they could have just have registered the home and not closed it down?

Couldn’t you google the home in question and find out?

This is second-hand gossip.

Perhaps the best thing would be to approach the college direct and ask for assurances from them regarding the accommodation provision.
