Quitting a job is scary.

I've been promised a pay rise for many months now, and it hasn't materialised. I am vastly underpaid for the work I do (at least by half, if not more) but have stayed based on this promise and possibly misplaced loyalty to the company.

I have a job offer that isn't in the same field but could work well for me anyway - I'm not leaving for nothing.

I can't stay. I'm sick of being underpaid for my skills. I'm really nervous about quitting, though. Sad

Agree. It's like breaking up with someone. I always cry and I'm well known for my emotional control!

That's a really good way of putting it!! I'm going to miss so much about it, despite feeling fed up.

I was such a nervous wreck when I handed in my notice to one boss that he thought I was about to tell him I had some terrible illness. So keep things in perspective!

Nerves are just your body's way of preparing you for something. Like excitement.
