Could anyone recommend some for me? I'm in that kind of mood.

I've watched the obvious disaster films and contagion/outbreak etc.

I also liked early days Walking Dead and Survivors.

Can anyone recommend something similar I might enjoy?

Equilibrium if you want full blown dystopian future.

Ex Machina or Devs might be up your street if you’re interested in the tech side.

Also:
Westworld
District 9
Handmaid’s Tale
Man In The High Tower

I've just watched To the Lake on Netflix, a Russian apocalyptic drama which is quite brutal at times but it was good.
Also, not dystopian, but I absolutely loved Kingdom on Netflix, a zombie series set in ancient Korea.
Yes to Equilibrium and Handmaids Tale!

linerforlife · 03/02/2021 16:40

Snowpiercer on Netflix

Sidge · 03/02/2021 16:41

Altered Carbon was good.

HPandTheNeverEndingBedtime · 03/02/2021 16:43

Brave new world on Sky / Now Tv

Bagelsandbrie · 03/02/2021 16:44

Handmaids tale
Gattaca
The man in the high castle

‘The Platform’ (Spanish dystopian film on Netflix - enjoy!)

Ifailed · 03/02/2021 16:50

The Road, book is better than the film. Threads is also a barrel of laughs.

Bluntness100 · 03/02/2021 16:50

Snowpiercer it’s excellent. I’m currently binge watching.

Mooselaurels · 03/02/2021 16:52

Black mirror
Children of men

Bagelsandbrie · 03/02/2021 16:56

‘The Platform’ (Spanish dystopian film on Netflix - enjoy!)
Yes! This is incredible. I’d forgotten that one.
tummyaches · 03/02/2021 17:02

The barrier - In Spanish on Netflix and second to the lake- it's brilliant

SinkGirl · 03/02/2021 17:13

I couldn’t get past one episode of Snowpiercer! I really wanted to like it too.

Bluntness100 · 03/02/2021 17:16

Oh give it another shot. It’s really good.
Labobo · 03/02/2021 17:21

Have you seen Humans? That's good.

SinkGirl · 03/02/2021 17:24

I will try again. I enjoyed the film but the TV series just felt really poorly done. Will try a few more episodes!

Violetparis · 03/02/2021 17:26

The Last Wave on iplayer, french drama set in a surfing community.

Bagelsandbrie · 03/02/2021 17:27

I love the Snowpiercer film but couldn’t get into the series at all.

Soubriquet · 03/02/2021 17:27

What happened to Monday is a good film on Netflix

SinkGirl · 03/02/2021 17:29

Oh and the TV series Utopia if you like a bit of conspiracy theory (watch the British one, the US one is crap in comparison)

Redannie118 · 03/02/2021 17:31

Another vote for children of men. Ones of the best movies I have ever seen and hugely under rated.

LangClegsInSpace · 03/02/2021 17:33

I second The Barrier, also The Unthinkable and Aliens (not the film, the channel 4 series now on Netflix)

LittleRa · 03/02/2021 17:38

Children of Men
The Handmaid’s Tale
Blade Runner
Minority Report

BentBastard · 06/02/2021 18:03

Thank you everyone for he suggestions, there's lots there I haven't seen yet.

Didn't mean to ungratefully abandon thread, I completely forgot I posted this as haven't been on Mumsnet for a few days.

Thanks all!!
