Half term activity ideas for younger children

Inspired by a thread for half term ideas for older children/teens, I am hoping for any ideas for younger school age children.

DS is 5 and is in school full time as I work in a hospital. We are both exhausted so I expect a some of the week will be be spent just having quiet time at home. As we’ve not had a holiday in ages I’ve been putting some money aside every week to have some treats this holiday (£200) but as everything is likely to be closed I need some inspiration for fun at home activities. He’s just got into films so I’ve ordered some Disney films and got a few craft things/foam etc but would love any ideas that you have. Thank you!

DD is 5 and also in school, first day off will be a chill out out playing games and watching movies. Orchard games are good, plus monopoly, kerplunk etc.
Rest of week will be walks, baking, crafting. If it's allowed we will drive to the beach ten miles away, even in winter that age enjoy it.

Disney Eye Found It is a good game for that age.
I’ve bought a cardboard playhouse from Hobbycraft and we’re going to paint it www.hobbycraft.co.uk/colour-in-cardboard-rocket-playhouse-88cm/578508-1001

We’re having a sleepover in my room with snacks etc, and pampering but that’s for the older two, little one will just enjoy staying up late!

There's a simple citizen science survey called the Star Count which you can do any night from 6-14 February - a free family activity pack is also available.

I'm not sure what we're going to do in half-term - walks and bike rides if the weather is OK, probably a lot of screentime, watch some films, DD might do craft or clay, and they might reluctantly consent to the odd board game.

What about buy a cheapy festival tent and have a little camp out in the lounge. When mine were little we did this occasionally they spent ages setting it all up inside and then walk to the shop to choose some sweets and a magazine. Spend some time reading playing cards in the tent.
