What treats to send elderly Uncle

My elderly Uncle has been in hospital for the last three weeks and prior to that battling with Covid at home. He's today been transferred for rehabilitation (a care home) as he can't walk and has lost a massive amount of weight.

From what I can gather he's still very much with it mentallystill. I'm going to send him a card (letters are allowed accordingly to the website so guess cards are) but wanted to send him a few treats if they'll let me. Any ideas what I can send? He's never been able to tolerate chocolate. Likes rugby, watching the birds outside.

What about those soft jelly sweets sprinkled with sugar. No idea where you get them though.
Is he able to do crosswords/word searches?
A nice blanket?

Heheh, I too was going to suggest fruity jelly sweets coated in sugar!

If he had a CD player (dare I say walkman!) I'd suggest some CDs of music from his youth, bird songs or a talking book

A book about birds of the UK with large, colourful full pictures

A set of binoculars (to watch birds out the window)

Murray mints or Werthers
Bird feeder that sticks on the window
A magazine or novel - or history book of local area
A pot plant
Daffodils from Cornish Blooms (very fresh)
Fudge
A letter with some photos
Room diffuser
"Manly" lip balm (Kiehls do a non-shiny one in masculine packaging)
Letterbox biscuit or cookie delivery
