Attempted scam

Hi someone phoned pretending to be from my bank.

They didn’t get any info from me as I hung up, but I am not sure who to report their number to, as it was an attempted scam not a successful one.

Have tried to phone my bank but there is a 50 minute wait to talk to them.

Did you email your bank’s fraud department to report this with details to ensure your banking facilities are not compromised or security credentials need changing etc. Due to pandemic arrangements some/many retail bankers may be working remotely (possibly at home etc) in a less secure or specifically designed for purpose secure environment being a possible area of concern for inadvertent security leakage etc.

Also try to report this to your landline or mobile service provider as they usually have a fraud and scam department to collect such information and if appropriate add to their known or frequently reported database to protect users.
