Give me some career inspiration please so I can live vicariously through you all and decide if I should take the plunge.

Retrained as an accountant when I was 34. Wish I'd waited and stayed in IT until they brought in training outside public practice as it's meant my occupational pension is only 10% of what it would've been.
Hindsight is a wonderful thing!
Your 30s are often the years where you get promotions and lay down contributions for your pension. I never earned more than I'd done as an IT consultant.
