Claimed universal credit from June - December due to unemployment and being a FT carer .
Initially given carers credit, then told to ask for carers allowance .
Given that in a back payment , and told to pay back £400 as was then told you can’t receive both .
Restarted FT education on Jan 10th . I told the DWP repeatedly, phoned in November and told to tell them about 3-4 weeks prior to uni start date .
Told them, all fine, told today my UC finIshed on 10 January .
Did not receive a January payment .
Then got told I now owe them £350 because I told them I was starting education one day into new assessment period . So I owe them money for an assessment period (18 Dec to 11 Jan or something) - but that’s money that I never received .
Theh told me in Jan all payments were suspended, to meet the previous bill that I owed them - but whatever I’m doing it doesn’t seem to be enough .
I have £6 to my name as waiting on student loan coming in . I don’t have that sort of money . They’ve told me it isn’t up for dispute, it’s my fault .
I’m totally bewildered as have followed every single instruction from day 1, but keep being told I’m making mistakes ?
What can I do to sort this - local CAB are saying they’re too busy and national number said they can’t help either .
