What law would you change and what what law would you create?

My DS11 asked me today:

1. If I could only change one law, in what way would I change it?

1. If I could create one law, what would that be?

I would change the laws surrounding domestic violence, rape and coercive control so that more convictions were given. I watched a documentary on iplayer last night about coercive control and found it so depressing that so many young people thought the behaviour was fine.

I would create a new law surrounding the emotional abuse of children. It needs to be illegal in the same way that physical abuse is

I agree about the child support one, including much tougher sentences for defrauding one’s children by hiding assets, they are the laws I would change.

I would also create a special category of assault of a public servant. NHS staff, police and teachers put up with far too much.

To make it illegal to evict anyone without providing those people with the means to secure an alternative home.

To make it illegal to use plastic in any packaging.

To make it a crime punishable with 15 years in jail for pet theft.

I know , I know 3 laws...over indulged...but all essential I think.

@Bearnecessity I agree with you on the eviction one! Not that I disagree with all the others that have been suggested!
