Help me find the German tree house resort from ‘Rich Holiday Poor Holiday’ please!

I’ve done a quick google but can’t find the same resort the poor family stayed at, although there seem to be quite a few treehouse places in Germany. I assumed that the swimming pool was part of the resort but maybe not and perhaps that’s why I can’t see it in the search results?

If the swimming pool was a separate place does anyone perhaps know the name of that, too?

Many thanks!

Is this it? I can't see a swimming pool though.

IliveonCoffee · 02/02/2021 16:04

Have you been watching it on demand? Either way, potentially have a read of the credits, sometimes they 'thank', for lack of better word, the locations they filmed at.

It was something like Saxony where the tree house resort was I think. I have never seen anything like this. A shame mine are all grown up or we would go.
It was very expensive for a week though.

Thanks all.

I’m not sure if it’s that one WhatHaveIFound... can’t see anything about the petting zoo or the pool (assuming the pool was on site).

Ooh good idea about checking the credits if I can rewatch it on More5.

Or tripsdrill.de/de/natur-resort/baumhaeuser/

Happy4us · 19/03/2021 16:43

The tree house was in Saxony somewhere. Didn’t see what it is called though.
Could be this

The pool was not part in the treehouse as it’s a seperate thing near Berlin.

Hope this helps!

Yes that’s the tree house!

Pretty sure the pool was separate as iirc they costed it for a day out and showed her settling the bill at the end of the day before they left.

At least that looks like it might be more accessible price wise.

I googled some remote snow lodge that Sandi Toksvig went to on her Norway programme. I knew it would be expensive, but wow..

£15000 per night with a typical minimum charge of £75k to include all meals I should bloody hope so various activities and transfers to and from the airport by helicopter.

Where's that 'when I win the lottery'?

Campervan69 · 17/01/2022 17:01

I was watching that last night didn't it look amazing? I always fast forward the poor holidays as they inevitably involve camping of some sort in the UK which I have done endlessly.

I'm sure the treehouse place itself is delightful and most welcoming to all, but I'm not sure I'd recommend that part of Germany to someone who isn't white, to be blunt. It has a bit of a reputation due to the ... let's say controversial views ... of a section of the population. It also has one of the lowest vaccination rates in Germany, and those facts are related.
I've been to Tropical Islands, the large swimming pool, several times before, just not recently. You wear a wristband for buying food etc and the bill at the end of the day is always shockingly high. It's fun for kids as a special treat though. I'd say it's maybe 60-90 minutes drive from the treehouse place.

baumhaushotel-oberbayern.de/

This isn't the one on the program, but an alternative tree house hotel about 50km from Munich.

ureterr1blemuriel · 17/01/2022 17:51

Oooh I watched this programme - draw dropping locations/accommodation but never got around to googling prices/exact locations.

Joe Lycett as the new travel man did a see through ceiling dome type stay under the northern lights with shared facilities about 100 meters walk away for c£100 a night…much more my ball park 😆
