I have an unexpected week off work

So I thought I'd try and get done some of the 'long term' chores I never seem to get round to, like checking the dates on herbs and spices, washing my makeup brushes, unsubscribing from unwanted email lists and sending my spoiled dog's unloved toys to the RSPCA (they're basically untouched - does anyone know if they'll accept them?)

Anyway, help me out please Mumsnet, what am I forgetting?

Changing energy supplier?
Getting a smart meter installed?
Smear test
Maybe some batch cooking
Check in on pensions
Pick a random room (or even a drawer) and sort stuff out (throw away)
Linked - go to the tip

I hope you can do some nice non-errandy things too - even if we are completely restricted at the moment

No offence but would your partner (assuming you have one) think ‘wahay, chores’ on their week off? Take some time for yourself.

Something that YOU want to do! Get a takeaway coffee, take the dog on the longest walk of their life, do some therapeutic baking, whatever floats your boat!

Thanks for the suggestions! I did give myself a foot spa pedicure yesterday so I am doing stuff for me too! And I'm totally going to bake bread later in the week.

I don't have a partner so the chores are down to me anyway!

I don't seem to have got much done yet! Just sorted through the socks (binned 4 pairs) and hoovered the dead spiders from the back of the cupboards.

Shoveling the layers of junk out of my car has been added to the list! I've just got to wait for the weather to play ball with that one!

Keep the ideas coming guys!

Clear all the food cupboards not just the spices. Don't forget the technically in date stuff, that you used once, don't use but now keep as some kind of weird cupboard ornament until it goes out of date? Although that's probably just me...along with the 3 jars of cranberry sauce I swear we haven't got at Christmas/whenever I want bacon / brie baguette.

Sort out the crockery, cups and cooking equipment.

I've actually got a list, room by room of all the bits I want to sort out. I have so much clutter, reasonably tidied away but still so much of stuff I don't use....I may have dreams of minimalism where one has just a single pot plant on a shelf, rather than looking like the clearance section of hobby craft.
