On what bloody planet do you sub an item costing a pound with one costing 15 pounds. Is it me???

@Bobbiepin

At least you actually got gin! Once ordered baby formula and got bleach instead.
ShockConfused @Bobbiepin did it have a similar name??

Could have more fun if the thread switches to the weirdest subs ever received.

I ordered a pack of bacon an they sent me a pork joint!

Foxyloxy1plus1 · 02/02/2021 17:42

Check the no subs box.

LemonGoby · 02/02/2021 17:56

My best Sainsbury’s sub - should have been a pack of 9 loo rolls, and they sent a pack of 8 finger rolls! Confused - the mind boggles at how we were supposed to use them... Hmm

Bobbiepin · 02/02/2021 22:04

@Bedforme no not at all. Baby hated the taste too, so was a complete waste Wink

NannyGythaOgg · 02/02/2021 22:34

I ordered zinc tablets as GP said I was deficient. Was sent vitamin C

daisyjgrey · 02/02/2021 22:37

I once ordered lemons and was sent lemon bleach.

As an aside, you'll get an email in a day or two and they'll have issued a voucher for the difference in cost that you can knock off your next order.

It’s awful that I laughed at bleach being subbed for formula, like wtf! Where do they find these pickers, I’m sure some are just trying to find the most bizarre subs for a Laugh?!

Vellichor · 03/02/2021 02:55

With Sainsbury’s, there should be an option to subtract the extra that you have paid from a future shop. You don’t have to apply for the voucher, you will find it at as an option to add at the online checkout when you are next putting in an order. Then they just subtract the amount from whatever future shipping order you use to take it from.

SleepingStandingUp · 03/02/2021 03:47

So you got a bottle of gin for £1??

Blueteatowel · 03/02/2021 15:38

My voucher is in my account now - thanks everyone who highlighted this process. I think I prefer how other shops do with not charging extra for the subs but hey ho.

But I'll stop moaning and probably crack open the gin tonight!

They should totally have a competition going. If they don't, they are seriously missing out on some fun!
H1978 · 03/02/2021 19:41

I’m always hesitant to click the subs button unless it something I really need that week. Never had an odd substitution before but it’s good for a laugh. I love getting a premium product for the price of an own brand.

CupcakesK · 03/02/2021 19:48

Over Christmas we got sent five litres (five separate litre bottles) of strawberry milk as a sub for cream

mogtheexcellent · 03/02/2021 19:51

You'll get a refund email and the difference will be a voucher you take off your next shop. If nothing in next 2 days call and ask for refund.

I've been having some brilliant subs recently. Ie order pack of shortbread fingers, get large gift box of taste the difference shortbread. 2 pack salmon fillet ordered, larger pack subbed. Grin
