Fluoxetine and breastfeeding

I saw my GP last week who prescribed fluoxetine. He said not to take it if breastfeeding, I told him I was but coming to the end now. I'm actually barely doing it anymore. Only the odd occasion when she's really unsettled. But, I've read about it and general consensus is that it's fine while breastfeeding. I'm wanting to try them so should I start now or leave it until the breastfeeding has completely finished?

How old is your little one, from here it seems older than 4 months and it would be Ok. If you're really only doing the occasional feeds it sounds like it would be sensible to start, I found those occasional feeds lasted quite a while and weaning can add it's own mood swings to the mix.

Thank you. She is 2.5 now so not a worry there. We can go a few days without it. Reading that, I am not sure why he didn't put me on sertraline, as I was on them before anyway!
