Birthday in lockdown

It's my birthday in a few weeks, not a big one and I got vouchers for my last birthday that I'm still to use due to lockdown.

Family are asking what I want and I'm totally stuck.

Not perfume, I have tonnes
Not jewellery, I don't wear it
Not clothes, I would want to choose
Not a bag, got a lovely one last birthday
Not a purse, got one for Christmas
Not a scarf, not my thing

Budget probably just £20 to £30

Any suggestions of what I can request?

Nice bath foam? Might sound a bit old fashioned but I've discovered my love of hot baths this winter.

How about books or some really nice chocolates that you wouldn't normally buy?

dancemom · 01/02/2021 20:07

Sorry I should have said I got tonnes of bath and shower things for Christmas as I do love them.

Books I'd probably want to choose myself and chocolates I still have lots left from Christmas also.

A nice loungewear set?

HainaultViaNewburyPark · 01/02/2021 20:14

A subscription to audible?

Roystonv · 01/02/2021 20:14

Jigsaw, sewing/knitting kit, magazine subscription, point them in direction of book you want, new duvet set, print, fancy note lets i.e. something you have said you like to yourself but wouldn't just buy it.

dancemom · 01/02/2021 20:14

Loungewear is a good call, wine is also always good but I expect I'll get that anyway

Thanks

An afternoon tea delivery?

DiscontentedWoman · 01/02/2021 20:18

Readly is good - it's a magazine app. I think a 3 month subscription is about £18?

dancemom · 01/02/2021 20:20

Afternoon tea is a plan 👍🏼

I've just ordered a lovely vase from Oliver Bonas... Might be worth a look on there, see if there is anything you fancy?

Chimchimcharoo · 01/02/2021 23:06

Flowers - a really nice bouquet. Books - send a wish list
Food - afternoon tea / just eat voucher

ButterfliesandMoths · 01/02/2021 23:06

An Alexa?

Defiantly41 · 01/02/2021 23:13

Set up a wish list on John Lewis and/or Amazon. Include lots of things at various price points. That way you get to choose but still get surprises

I'd love some new sportswear, socks, a candle, hotel chocolat chocolates, face cream, a set of washable face masks, some nail polish ...

EraOfTheGrey · 02/02/2021 03:21

I had a big birthday last year but DH has suggested skipping a year and celebrating it this year, this will also keep me 1 year younger Wink.

I've asked for a caravan and have my fingers crossed. In lieu of a caravan I'll ask for Amazon vouchers so I can buy loads of books.

Earrings (if you can trust their judgement, or give them some ideas on Etsy or NotOnTheHighStreet to look at)

A good jigsaw
