Big birthday Spa recommendation

I have a big birthday coming up later in the year. I'm not very sociable but a friend very kindly invited me for her 40th to a spa a few years ago. It was so nice, plus I've not seen her regularly as we moved away, that I thought it might be a nice idea to arrange a spa day for us.

Any recommendations, far north of England or Middle Scotland gettable to by train. Tho I'll probably drive as I live further down south now. Friend lives in the Central Belt.

I was maybe thinking Edinburgh but she's suggesting countryside. I love a pool, don't do make-up, etc, so more facilities & food, rather than treatments, other than basic massage.

Any & all recommendations welcome, she's struggling with kids, homeschooling & injuries, so wants something to dream about. 😁

Aqua Sana spas at most Centre Parc resorts are great! They do day package for two people for around £90, includes a meal and drinks, use of all facilities and you can book additional treatments if you want.

Should have added, you don't need to be a guest a the resort, the spa is a separate facility and open to anyone to book for a day, half a day, single treatment sessions and some offer the availability to do overnight or weekly accommodation bookings within the spa itself.

The Aqua Sana Spas are great! I'd also highly recommend Ragdale Hall. It is superb and they bring you breakfast in bed each morning Grin

Titanic Spa, Huddersfield. Absolutely lovely

The train link is the difficult bit. Seaham Hall?

Rudding Park near Harrogate has an amazing spa. Appleby Manor in Appleby is smaller but a lovely country house and accessible on the Settle to Carlisle railway which has beautiful views.

I can work on the train thing, just need to pick her up from Carlisle or somewhere down the train line.

I want to go on a course in Huddersfield...

Thanks for the suggestions, definitely gives me ideas to suggest. 😁

If we are taking away the train station then Redworth Hall, Peebles Hydro or Ramside Hall

I know she's been to Stobo.

Anywhere near Warrington or Carlisle?

Good list. Gives us something to do. Thanks. 😁
