Hypnotherapy

Hi

I'm thinking of seeing a hypnotherapist to help me give up sugar.

I am hoping this will have a positive impact on my energy and desire to do more to exercise.

I also have Candida and try make a big effort with my diet. I am good for a while and then slip back into bad habits.

If I'm honest I would be quite nervous of hypnotherapy and at the same time a bit skeptical of the success. I've tried lots and lots of exercise apps abs diets but I'm finding it hard to stick to this by myself and want to try a different approach now!

I'm piling on the weight this Lockdown and need help!!!

Any thoughts or experiences with this sort of thing would be appreciated.

Thanks all Smile

I had hypnosis years ago , it helped me lay off the quality street over Christmas but it's not a magic bullet
Not sure if going sugar free is realistic long term ?

Hi @nitsandwormsdodger

Thanks for getting back to me! I just need a boot up the bum to help me get started!

I'm wondering whether "sugar" is too broad a topic?

What do you think?

I could literally have written your post word for word (and in fact was thinking about posting it this week!)

I'm also tempted to try it for sugar but a) slightly sceptical and b) dont like the idea of someone messing around in my brain.

Would love to hear from some people that have done it!

I had hypnotherapy to help me overcome my inability to go out. I couldn't even stand near the front door or sit by the window let alone open them. I was recommended hypnosis as an almost last chance because nothing else had worked. To be honest I didn't expect it to work but it did with amazing results. I have a cd that I use now to 'top up' if I feel myself building up again. I was lucky and it took only two sessions but she did say I was highly receptive

@ConspiracyOfOne

That's a coincidence! Maybe we'll get more comments!!

@pinkyboots1

So sorry to hear about your problem but really really glad that it worked out for you. Do you mind if I ask were you were nervous doing the hypnosis?

I am worried my topic is too broad but I suppose if I was to dig down as to why I am attracted to sugar and not attracted to exercise I will get to the root of the problem.

Thank you!! Smile

I had Hypnotherapy to cut down my sugar intake (too much coke cola was my issue). I've give up cola so it has worked. I still eat sugar, so haven't cut it out completely.

lighterthanlife · 01/02/2021 18:08

@OrigamiOwl that's amazing, has this had an impact on other sweet stuff at all or was your goal just to give up cola specifically?

Well done by the way!!

Thanks

My goal was just to give up cola, I thought all sugars would be too much of a big ask as I have a serious sweet tooth!

lighterthanlife · 01/02/2021 18:57

I hear that @OrigamiOwl!!

Well done, I'm feeling a bit more confident with this process!

Thanks
