Any teachers around...

My DD has been in school throughout lockdown (I work at hospital) and school and teachers have been brilliant. I would like to get them a little something to say thank you...what would you like/suggest?

A letter to the Head..I've been so chuffed when parents have done that. If you want to buy something- a voucher for a beauty salon is always appreciated they can put it towards a massage or something when all this is over!

I would genuinely be appreciative of just a card with a nice note inside. I have a wee box of any messages like that that I've received from pupils and parents and they mean a lot to me to be able to look back on when things are tough.

Lovely ideas, thank you so much. I wouldn't have thought to write a nice letter/card so I will definitely do that

I know it might sound a bit twee, but a handwritten card with a nice message means the world to me. I keep all the cards and letters from the children and parents I've had in my classes.

That, plus an email singing their praises to the Headteacher, the Chair of Governors and (if an academy) the CEO of the Trust, will go down a treat.

Booze and chocolates are always nice too!

HugeAckmansWife · 31/01/2021 20:49

Yep.. What everyone else said. An email to the head with specific praise is great

Shieldingending · 31/01/2021 20:51

That's lovely that you are thinking of them, and that thought will go a long way and be really appreciated

OutComeTheWolves · 31/01/2021 21:27

The official line is just your kind words are enough.

I do quite like getting wine or chocolate though.

My favourite ever gift was those little cans of cocktail that you get from the supermarket.

TheGonnagle · 31/01/2021 21:32

Please send an email to senior management expressing your gratitude. Every now and again we get an email to all staff with snippets of positive emails from parents. It’s a ray of sunshine amidst all that goes on at the moment!

MrsTeachers · 01/02/2021 13:29

Thank you so much for all suggestions; I have ordered some thank you cards and will include a small box of chocolates/wine

Please email the head, specify any particular brilliant teachers. I would be ecstatic with that. I wouldn’t want a physical gift.
