Mates Rates?

hello, looking for some advice on how to navigate this dilema.....

so a good friend is selling me an item cheaper than others.

Id enquired about the cost before agreeing purchase and she repd that they are £1800 but for me it will be £1300.

now i feel a bit awkward, should i pay the £1300, £1800 or something inbetween.

I kinda wish she had just said its £1300 and i wouldnt have known others were paying more, but maybe she was worried that cost would be discussed and others would find out.....

what would everyone do?

She's offered it to you for 1300, I would take it that she's just saying she's giving you mates rates, unless she has form for passive-agressive non communication of what she actually wants? So, 1300 is my vote.

Trys to work out what it is....puppy/kitten?

Definitely not at all passive aggressive, i think its probably just worry that the other customers would find out.

Im just in a dilema because £500 is a lot of money and a big discount. Just feel kinda awkward about it all

If your friend is happy to sell it at that price, just buy it at that price.

Buy at that price and give bottle of wine or beers too as a thank you

Or something cute like homemade brownies

If she's a good friend pay the £1300.

If she's more of an acquaintance, I'd be uncomfortable with that. I'd be worried I'd always "owe" her something, where as I'd be fairly sure that wouldn't happen with a good friend.
