rectocele / polip - very anxious!

Hello,
I went for my normal smear test the other day and apparently I have a rectocele... the doctor was not very forthcoming with details but did say that she wasn't worried... but... I GOOGLED and now I have the fear... I am terrified that my insides are going to fall out :-) Apparently I may also have a polyp, which also seems a bit scary.
Basically, I have to go to a physical therapist for pelvic floor muscle work. Has anyone had this? Did it work? I need a bit of help to stop being so anxious...

I have a rectocele prolapse. I suspect an awful lot of women who have carried/delivered vaginally do. It isn't that big a deal for many women. Mine only really bothers me in that, if I am any way constipated, it pushes it out more, feel uncomfortable then. So I need to watch my diet, drink plenty, and takes laxatives occasionally. It's a bit like trying to poop around u bend I guess.Grin
I do know someone who had their prolapse repaired, but she said it didn't make much difference.
I'm also a nurse, and polyps are very common and can be removed easily if needed. They are like an inside wart. Usually sent to a lab to double-check if anything worrying, but that is routine. I wouldn't worry about it.
If you didn't even know you had the rectocele I really wouldn't be worrying.

Oh thank you so much Bosco I am so very stressed about everything! It's true that I hadn't really noticed before, I am not uncomfortable but had noticed that pooing was very slow sometimes - it gets stuck I suppose! I tried pushing with my fingers in my vagina (sorry tmi..) and that worked well. I assume it can't just get worse and fall out completely all of a sudden...
