Please reassure me, chest discomfort...

Woke up not feeling great, nothing specific. Tired.
Fatigue has got worse during day, and nausea has developed. This evening, discomfort in chest, fairly high up, middle. Had Covid at Christmas recovered fine.

I'm becoming more anxious somethings wrong with my heart - yes i know, vicious circle. Have had anxiety in past, but don't have racing pulse, heart pounding. In fact opposite, chest heavy, harder work to breathe. But again, chest heaviness can be anxiety.

I have had anxiety in the past, but not for quite a while.

I know you're not doctors, but can you just help me calm down, hand hold. Am single parent...

If i don't move, the nausea calms down. Not dehydrated.

dottiedaisee · 29/01/2021 20:23

It is probably indigestion but it is always wise to get the chest pain checked out . Call 111 and get advice .

Dee261 · 29/01/2021 20:32

God love you it’s only natural you panic when feeling unwell never mind when you already have anxiety that just excels it however please don’t dismiss your symptoms and blame it on anxiety.

You know your body and you feel unwell you have described systemic issues so I would 100% be calling 111.

Have you got anyone who is able to look after your child/children incase they want to take you to hospital for tests?
Please call and keep talking to us just now if you can just so we know your ok which I am sure you will 💞.
Sorry I’m not trying to scare you but please just call 111 xx

thank you Dee I did end up with paramedics here for chest pains several years ago, which was nothing. It was embarassing. It's not pain, it's a heaviness. I wish I could remember which came first, heaviness or starting to worry 🙄. It's not severe. I'm going to try and distract myself for half an hour and see where I am. I had a biscuit to see if it would help with the nausea but it didnt. I did have an osteopath appt this morning so possibly that's had an impact. Thank you. not usually this flaky

@colouringindoors I think we are all the same just now regarding being flaky.
I am loaded with the cold and am trying to sniff everything I can to make sure I can still smell 🙈.

I hope that it settles soon for you and remember check in anytime and let us know how your feeling Flowers

Just thought I’d mention, as you asked for reassurance, heavy chest/pain high up in the middle along with shortness of breath, palpitations & fatigue are how I always get when my iron is low.

Iron-deficiency anemia is a common type of anemia that occurs if you do not have enough iron in your body. People with mild or moderate iron-deficiency anemia may not have any signs or symptoms. More severe iron-deficiency anemia may cause fatigue or tiredness, shortness of breath, or chest pain

Obviously if you are really concerned then do call out of hours or 111 but even if you don’t feel you need medical attention this weekend it would be worth contacting the Dr next week.
I hope you feel better soon Flowers

Dee261 · 29/01/2021 21:53

You don’t need to thank me we all, we all need that little bit of reassurance at times and especially just now.
I really am hoping that you feel better real soon 💞

colouringindoors · 29/01/2021 21:56

Thanks flowery that is a possibility, have been anaemic in the past...

Am very bloated (wind) which is connected to my nausea I think. Need to burp!

I would call 111 just to be on the safe side, any chest pain/ heavyness should be checked out imo. Hope you feel better soon xxx

Tinkywinkydinkydoo · 29/01/2021 22:45

Did it come on after eating? I get that sometimes due to acid reflux , then noticing it and panicking about it makes it worse and I google it to death so that doesn’t help either.

lazylump72 · 30/01/2021 00:20

oh lazy that sounds really rough.
I'm going to bed now. It's calmed down a bit. Nausea and bloating taken over now 🙄
Tinky it's easy to panic isnt it. No, haven't felt like eating due to nausea.
Hopefully will feel a bit better tomorrow.
