Doorstep box for deliveries.

Do you have one?

I'm looking at Keter boxes. I imagine they are big and weather resistant enough for what I need. It's mainly for the odd amazon delivery, which gets left outside on my door mat... I only realise it's there when I look at my messages.

I suppose it depends on the delivery person tooand if they can be bothered to use the box.

And my neighbour, who nicks my stuff. Whether he would just break the box...

Any suggestions for how to keep my deliveries safe in this modern world?

That's exactly what we have, and a note on the door asking for all deliveries to go in the box if possible, it works well, I got fed up of answering the door when WFH! We have Ring doorbell so we know when someone has been and we just pop out and get it.

Other than the odd delivery chap who still thinks its a great idea to drop the parcel on the doorstep, bang the door aggressively, ring the bell a few times and run back to his van, I'd say 90% of our deliveries are now just placed in the box with a card through the door, and our postman knows he can leave next door's in it too if he needs to.

I can't help with your thieving neighbour though!

I use a Keter box by the front door, it has a note on it asking for all deliveries to be placed inside, still have the occasional parcel left propped against the door in the rain though! Its also good for the pizza delivery person to leave the food on top for socially distanced deliveries rather than on the ground.

It won't help with the thief of a neighbour though unless you get one that can lock. We have CCTV trained on ours (because its by the front door) and I've noticed that one of the free paper deliverers likes to nosey inside when he's posting the newspaper through the letter box.
