To wear my work uniform?

We're on our third round of redundancies and this time I'm being considered. We all have two assessments, my second one is this afternoon (if I'm borderline for going, I'll have to fight for it and an on spot decision will be made).

It's not my normal work hours. Would you wear your work uniform? I don't need it on for hygiene or anything like that and I don't think it will matter - I'm either staying or going.

I think as you say it probably doesn't/shouldn't matter so wear whatever you are comfortable with. Obviously if the assessment involves being 'on the shop floor' or doing tasks which require the uniform on in some way then of course wear it, and I would def dress fairly smartly, turning up in bobbly leggings and a hoody with mysterious stains probably says you don't care too much about keeping your job so I'd go with whatever you have that's appropriate...

I would wear it.

As you say it may not have any effect on the decision but will show you value your role and have pride in your uniform. It'll show you want the job.

I'm sorry you're going through this and good luck Thanks

Thanks for your replies. I'll probably wear my uniform.

Luckily I'm seeing the manager who did the management assessment for my first meeting, and it was better than I thought. Don't know how it's been adjusted though after my first meeting and the other managers having a say.
