I’m looking for suggestions of areas in or close to Durham that would be nice to live in as DH will be working at the university. We don’t know the region at all and so I have no idea where to start with looking for somewhere to live. We’d probably rent for a year before buying and max budget for buying is £300k. We have 3 children under 6 so good schools/ family friendly are important. DH wouldn’t want to commute for more than 30 mins each way and I have a medical condition that means I’ll never be able to drive so it needs to be a town or area with everything in walking distance or good public transport. Could anyone with local knowledge suggest names of areas so I can at least start with a Rightmove search? Or places we should definitely avoid?
