Hi,
I'm 31 weeks pregnant with my 4th child. After having my first routine blood test I was told my white blood cells were high. GP asked some questions - do I get bone pain, any fevers? Which I dont. He told me not to worry as it normally sorts itself out. Then when I spoke to the Midwife about it she said my blood test was all over the place and if it's like that again they'll refer me to the hospital. This was oct 9.Then I had my second routine test (30 Dec) and 3 weeks later the GP called me, once again asked questions mainly about sweating and fevers - again I dont get them.
Anyway this time the GP arranged an appointment for 1 week later to have repeat bloods taken.
A day later the GP called me saying she's referring me to a heaomotologist and its an urgent referral and that she doesnt want to scare me but she doesnt want it to be a shock when they call me but....they'll be testing for cancer.
So off my OH went to get the blood results to look ourselves and we see the heaomotologist has noted that theres a left shift, a basophillia (i think thats how it's spelt) which arises suspicion for CML.
I'm in absolute shock and I'm also scared (hate to admit!).
Just reaching out to see if anyone else has had a similar experience and is the suspicion always correct?
Much love xx
