Do you have one? How many people do you know with them?
What old wives tales do you know about them? Any superstitions?
Only a bit of fun, I've just noticed my baby has it! Each wurl goes in a different direction.

I read it was connected to how the brain formed underneath ... the whorls ...
And that most people with double crowns are left handed ?

Brenna24 · 28/01/2021 23:48

My mum and my daughter both have a double crown. I loved DD's little mohawk when she was a baby and her owl face from the back. They are both right handed though @IceDiscoSkater.

Dryadia · 29/01/2021 00:10

my DH had one in his younger days ( not an issue now! Grin as long gone) and another wurl in his beard that drives him absolutely nuts.

Hereslookinatyou · 29/01/2021 00:12

I have a double crown, as does my husband and my mum. It doesn't seem to give them much trouble but it causes chaos with my hair - sits fine just after washing & drying, next day after sleeping on it, I look like I've been sleep mopping and rattled my head across the kitchen floor 20 odd times!

Firebird83 · 29/01/2021 00:35

My DS does. He has to have his hair quite long on top, otherwise it sticks up in all directions!

JesusAteMyHamster · 29/01/2021 00:37

My DS has three probably with a 6 in the middle of each one

Throwntothewolves · 29/01/2021 01:00

I have a double crown, not left handed though IceDiscoSkater. I have long hair so it's not obvious, but sometimes my parting looks odd towards the top of my head, it goes off at a tangent instead of ending in the middle

VienneseWhirligig · 29/01/2021 01:03

DS has one and his hair resembles a duck's bum if he leaves it without a cut for long Grin

grassisjeweled · 29/01/2021 01:06

Who knew?!

TakemedowntoPotatoCity · 29/01/2021 01:07

I just looked at some pics of this and now I feel weird. It's a bit like trypophobia!

PigletJohn · 29/01/2021 01:18

yes and for at least 20 years people have told me I am starting a bald patch.

Maybemay123 · 29/01/2021 08:04

1dc,dm,dn and me.

borageforager · 29/01/2021 08:06

My son has a double crown & is left handed. It’s perfectly symmetrical, and means if he hair is too short it sticks up.

Ladsladslads · 29/01/2021 08:09

Double crowns are just a genetic quirk, nothing more sinister!! We all have them here

teuer · 29/01/2021 08:11

I have and it's a pain. My hair is thin and fine and have to deal with the back every day or I have a bald looking patch. I had no idea there were superstitions about it. I am left handed though and can do loads of things with both hands so bordering on ambidextrous. My writing is very legible with my right hand and I catch a ball with my right.

LookToTreblesGoingTreblesGone · 29/01/2021 08:27

DH has one. It never bothered him until he started going bald and he developed baldiness on both crowns!

DD has it too. But she's not worried about double bald patches 😁

Babababababybelll · 29/01/2021 08:42

Yes !

Hubby and both kids have double crowns

Also , all left handed. (Hubby ambidextrus)

Thats really interesting. I didnt know it was a linking trait.

RosesAndHellebores · 30/01/2021 08:13

DH and DS are both right handed.

MonsterKidz · 30/01/2021 09:10

My son has one. Hair sticks up everywhere, he either needs it really short or long.

When he was a baby a chinese lady asked me about it and told me it meant he would be clever.

micc · 30/01/2021 16:54

Thank you for all of your responses!
I am now a bit concerned about how we wre going to deal with her hair ! Haha! Hopefully she will inherit my family curls I missed out on and it wont be so obvious!
