Activity ideas needed for 8 year old please

Hello, I am looking for quiet activity ideas that my 8 year old DD can do at home once finished school work and while I work, rather than just resorting to tablet and tv time!

She has a step by step drawing book so sometimes does that. She also likes kids art hub on YouTube for drawing tutorials (I know that’s more screen time but at least she is drawing too!)

Any suggestions for kids magazines she like might like?

Looking for similar activities to the above or any new ideas for quiet activities she can get on with without help!

Thanks

My nearly 8 year enjoys doing scratch art. She might like that if she likes drawing.

Not the cheapest but my son loves the scrawl box subscription, its art supplies, different theme each month. Before we signed up for the subscription we ordered a few of their left over older boxes at a discounted price to try.

Does she have any Lego dots, looks like you can design things out of Lego with those, I don't know much about them though.

My son also still likes good old junk modelling, being let loose with the recycling box, sellotape and glue.

A good audiobook whilst doodling can really extent how long they doodle for.

Other creative things that have gone down well for filling time are: kinetic sand, colour changing pens, scratch art and a spirograph set.

Non crafty things that have taken up some time: den building, Lego, marble runs and middle of the day bubble baths!

Somethings obviously take longer than others and some days not a whole lot seems to take his fancy and we end up having a screen heavy day.

Hama beads
Loom bands
Paint By Sticker Kids
ThinkFun Laser maze or Gravity Maze
Fimo modelling clay
Spirograph
Friendship bracelets
French knitting

Magazines - Jaqueline Wilson if she’s into her books, Nat Geo Kids if she likes animals, Discovery Box for science or Kookie for a bit of everything.

Origami (instructions from you tube -not quite screen free)
Giant dot to dot
Craft and science kits
Reading
Puzzles (jigsaw, books and smart games type ones)

My 8 yr old DD gets Nat Geo Kids magazine monthly and loves it.

She does a lot of drawing and junk modelling (I keep packaging and bulk buy brown tape!). She’s started writing a book Grin

She quite likes the more complicated “mindfulness” type colouring books as well, especially if we put gentle music on.

My DD loved Aquabeads at this age.

Jigsaws.
Learning to knit, or crochet.
Painting by Numbers kits.
Scratch Art kits.
Something to use up a bit of energy for 10 minutes, like skipping or hula hoops.
My DD used to collect stones, and paint them to make paper weights.
