Etc etc - what other shows are there featuring obsessives who are completely consumed by their investigations? Thanks if you can help me scratch this itch 💕

Undercover (Bob)

Ylfa · 31/01/2021 08:15

Ah I’ve never seen Marcella OR Undercover- will take a look, thank you so much. Know the others quite well, except Cracker which I can’t find (except for £small on amazon).

Deadwind on Netflix. Finnish cops.

MotherForker · 31/01/2021 09:23

The truth will out on All4

MrsSpenserGregson · 31/01/2021 09:23

Kari in Bordertown, but OMG the acting is terrible (from all the participants, not just him)

Lampan · 31/01/2021 09:28

I recently enjoyed Trapped. And though it’s not a Scandi series, I think Bosch fits the bill as an obsessive, it’s a great show.

Lampan · 31/01/2021 09:28

Oh and Caliphate features a VERY obsessive police officer. Possibly the best thing I’ve watched recently.

Xiaoxiong · 31/01/2021 09:34

A lot of the classic detectives are like this aren't they? Morse, Frost, Colombo...even miss marple, poirot and Sherlock Holmes. George Smiley in a spy context gets pretty obsessive too.

In fact the only one I can think of that isn't is Maigret, who somehow manages to leave his work at work, to home to his wife for a nice meal and to put his feet up. But he was French after all.

Starisnotanumber · 31/01/2021 10:59

If you have sky The Bridge American version is available now. Saga is now called Sonya.
2 series on STV set between USA and Mexico

EraOfTheGrey · 31/01/2021 16:05

Valhalla Murders
DNA
Marcella (watching season 3 now)
Cardinal
Trapped

Twinkie01 · 31/01/2021 16:19

Finished the Bridge last night and loved it, feel sad it's over.

Tried to rewatch the Tunnel before realising it's nearly word for word the same.

Is the American one totally the same? Saga was brilliant and I'm not sure anyone can live up to sophie Hein's amazing acting.

LittleG69 · 31/01/2021 16:24

Deadwind and Bordertown; both on Netflix and both Finnish

I just found the American one on stv on Roku but it was horrifically disappointing! Could have worked so well, with breaking bad style wide shots of the desert but it was just terrible. Falls a very long way below any acceptable standard 😀 didn’t make it very far through the first episode

Agree the American Bridge is no way as good as the original.
A series we have enjoyed is Dark on Netflix German with subtitles and time travel thrown in for good measure. People in multiple time zones meeting themselves and trying to solve crimes as well

BarelyMerry · 31/01/2021 17:41

We are watching The Investigation (sorry, no idea what channel!) A dramatisation of a real murder (the journalist who was killed in a home made submarine off the danish coast). If you've watched scandi dramas you will recognise some of the cast! It doesn't dwell on the murder or the murderer (his name is never mentioned) but is about the painstaking police investigation.

Ylfa · 01/02/2021 19:47

Dark and the Investigation both look 👌 viewing for me, thanks everyone 😊
