Thought I'd start a little light hearted thread amongst all of the doom and nastiness. I have the tiniest desk, and I'm thinking it needs a bit of a clear up. So here's what's on mine:-

Laptop (obvs)
Mouse
Alexa Dot
Chilli's bottle
Ipad
Phone
Handcream x2
Lip balm x2
Airpods x2 (one for laptop, one for ipad)

Oh and the remains of breakfast at the minute! What's on yours?

My desk is also my dining room table!

When working it has laptop
iPad
Headphones
Cup of coffee!
Stationary box
Magazine file with papers.
Box of tissues

I have a kallax unit in lounge and drawers and it gets out in there when using the table.

And table has tray with salt etc on it.

But if I'm honest the table mostly gets used for working and piling clean laundry that I then have to out away because I'm working Grin

I’m working whilst homeschooling three kids. I have made a standing desk at the kitchen worktop. They work at the kitchen table. I take calls best I can.

It’s ridiculous!!!!! I’m utterly demented

I love these noisy threads that reassure me !
Have been working on my dining table since march. It all gets cleared away on friday after work and i change the tablecloth too for a different weekend look.
I have my laptop and mouse, a glass and bottle of water, usually a mug empty or not..
My file of crap, a pen and my notebook.
What i have insisted on is having a plant or flowers within my vision too.
My bose speaker for some radio company and if its cold a candle.

I have recently discovered sitting on my wool blanket to keep me warm !

I also forgot my dachshund-shaped pen, a rack of highlighting pens which look like test use, and a book on machine learning.

When I gave my home office a makeover last summer I bought a small dining table instead of a desk so I have plenty of space! I have:

A curved widescreen monitor
A stand so I can use my laptop as a second screen
A plug-in dock so I can hook everything up
Wireless keyboard and mouse
Highlighters
Notebook
Pen
Headphones
Coffee mug

How do people manage to work with so much clutter?

I find that if I'm surrunded by clutter I can't think clearly.

I have actually tried desks but I find sitting on a chair for long really uncomfortable. I'd rather lie, or sit cross legged, on my bed.

I do lots of marking and that's always been a bed job - there's actually lots of rooms for piles on a bed and everything I need is within reach.

At school in the staffroom I will sit on the floor with the laptop on a low level coffee table and work and people always seem perturbed by it. Damn site more comfortable than the rigid chairs facing the wall on offer.

My bedside tables are like filing cabinets for everything I need.

@Tocketytickety I also have 2 desks... trough one is now DS workspace so covered in his crap.

I have laptop (on a wooden shelf I made to be the perfect height)
Keyboard & wireless mouse
2 sets of earphones. (Unsure why 2)
Notebook
Empty coffee cup
Pile of papers that need sorting.
My desk is an old fashioned bureau with little drawers & cubby holes at the back which are brilliant. They are full of post it notes, envelopes, pens & random other stuff.
My phone
My iPad
4 buttons.

The pile of research papers I'm supposed to read is particularly good at becoming invisible. It's more that I get distracted by the stuff on the computer tbh.

I also spend a fair few hours working standing up and bending over the table just for a change... In my dream office i would have a desk that would actually allow that.. i'd rather stand than sit half the time!

Laptop
Mouse and mat

Charger

Usually a cup of tea ☕👍👍
