It had to happen.

I have a wardrobe so full of stuff I can't see what I have in there - more than that actually, there are clothes in my daughter's wardrobe too, and stuff in drawers and in the spare room and even in the loft which I do not wear and have hung on to because - here come the excuses..

I gained weight and might wear them if I lost weight.. I lost weight, but may need them if I put the weight back on.. I only wore it once.. it cost a lot of money, I like it but I never wear it... I got it for a wedding.. you name the excuses - I can relate to all of them.......
Coats that have seen better days not even fit for dog walking.. why ?

I threw away over a hundred items and some boots and shoes too, plus hats I never wear either.........

The bloody wardrobe is still full of shit.
I have to stop going on eBay

Why dont you give it to chariity rather than throwing it away?

My rule is if I havent worn it in the last year (a year because that would encompass all seasons) then it goes. It works well.

Fair play for making a start.
I had to do that recently too, although I've left the loft clothes as I don't want to go up there!
My rule was I'm allowed four tops for each bottoms, so two jumpers and two lighter tops for a pair of jeans/cords/tracksuit bottoms/skirt.
Anything that can't be worn because it doesn't fit/is uncomfortable/needs something to wear with it either has to go or be fixed.
So if I need to add a stitch to stop a top gaping or buy a shirt to wear under a dress etc.
Accessories for clothes I no longer own had to go unless they were very neutral or sentimental gifts.
Nearly all lightweight scarfs went because as much as I'd like to be I'm just not that woman.
Shoes that I never wear because they are uncomfortable went.
Then I made myself start wearing my clothes, so even though I'm working from home I have to wear something from my wardrobe that can't pass for pajamas at least four days out of seven and preferably I haven't worn it in two weeks.
Anything that makes it through the winter unworn will be in jeopardy!
It is kind of fun, and there is a lot less pressure on the laundry Smile
Also my shopping hit is met by needing to get items to wear with what I have, so searching for the perfect top to wear under a comfortable and nearly unworn dress for example.
Another new rule, that has most impact on my pajama drawer at the minute is that if a new item is bought and I already have one, the old one must go.
Now you've broken the back of it try to enjoy the process with the rest, and maybe get some decent storage so it doesn't feel like overwhelming clutter.
I put away all the handbags I'm keeping because at the moment I only need one but when life gets back to normal I don't want to have to go buying a new version of something I threw out in good condition.
