Chinese takeaway without MSG?

I am trying to convince DH to try a new takeaway. There isn’t much choice around here but there is a well regarded Chinese takeaway. DH is convinced he is allergic to MSG ( I am not convinced...) but although the local takeaway has extensive allergy info on their menu it does not mention MSG ( probably for the same reason that I am sceptical that it is indeed an allergen?). I tried asking at the counter and they seemed confused but didnt give me an answer either way...

Do most chinese takeaways routinely use MSG these days? ( I know form DHs painstaking reading of labels at the local asian supermarket that it is still widely used in processed things like frozen dim sum...)

I havent had any chinese food since lockdown ( I used to regularly go out in China Town with friends - sans DH!) and I am really missing it. But I dont want to get a takeaway that he won’t eat....

I get a bit hyper and can't sleep if I have anything with MSG in it, also food with some flavourings in it. You could ring the Chinese takeaway and ask if they will do you a meal without MSG. I haven't but a friend has a similar reaction has.

I used to work in a Chinese takeaway and it's a common request. Anywhere that uses it should be able to make it without if you ask them. DH seems to have a reaction to it but has been much better since we started asking for his without MSG.

I have a reaction to MSG. I feel very sick and generally unwell. Your dh might not react in an allergic way, but that doesn't mean that he's okay with it. Food intolerance can still cause someone to feel unwell.

I’m Chinese and am very sensitive to MSG. The worse the restaurant the more MSG they throw in.

Neither myself nor any of my family have ever added it to our cooking it’s used to enhance not great food.
