Please can anyone help with naming a skincare brand?

I know you are so good at this!

OK, so a friend needs to re-name her skincare company due to her existing name being too similar to an existing brand. She's a small brand and uses organic ingredients - makes lovely soaps and bath salts etc etc.

She would like a nod to her Persian roots so anything connected to that would be great

Any ideas? For some reason, all I can think of is 'The Happy Hummus' and that won't do Grin

Acme

ClaudineClouds · 27/01/2021 15:51

What does Acme mean?

OP posts:
KirstenBlest · 27/01/2021 15:53

Highest point.

KirstenBlest · 27/01/2021 15:54

How about something like 'beautiful' but in persian.

Jetatyeovilaerodrome · 27/01/2021 15:55

There is a popular skincare brand called 'Drunk Elephant' so to be fair she can call it what she likes and if it's good people will buy it!

KirstenBlest · 27/01/2021 15:57

or some meaningful word that sounds nice in persian, something like cosset or grace or harmony.

YesMeLady · 27/01/2021 15:58

Aryana

TheRealCherHorowitz · 27/01/2021 16:00

Vashti or Ziba?

Standrewsschool · 27/01/2021 16:01

Can you give it a Persian-Anglo girls names?

Eg.
Soraya
Jasmine
Jazmin
Ayesha

Etc

ClaudineClouds · 27/01/2021 16:02

I think there is already a Ziba foods

OP posts:
ClaudineClouds · 27/01/2021 16:03

@Standrewsschool annoyingly she was using her name and didn't realise it was already in use which is disappointing

"stuffyouputonyourfacemadebysomeonewithpersianroots" 😂

I am not good at this.

wowfudge · 27/01/2021 16:36

How about Hoama - the Persian God of the harvest, health, strength, vitality; personification of the plant of the same name whose juices brought enlightenment.

MacavityTheDentistsCat · 27/01/2021 16:39

Sea of Light (like the Daria-i-Noor diamond)

wowfudge · 27/01/2021 16:39

Bollocks - I've spelled the name incorrectly and there's already a brand with the correctly spelled name. As you were.

wowfudge · 27/01/2021 16:43

Or Daria-i-Noor

Dogonahottinroof · 27/01/2021 17:30

Bollocks is a pretty good name, my favourite so far
wowfudge · 27/01/2021 19:27

Perhaps rather earthier than the OP was looking for in her second thread on the same subject.

ClaudineClouds · 27/01/2021 19:32

@wowfudge what other thread? You must be confusing me with someone else. And you're very welcome to check with MNHQ if you need to clarify I only have the one thread

Thanks all. I've passed them over to her

OP posts:
MrsSchadenfreude · 27/01/2021 19:34

Gusset.

ClaudineClouds · 27/01/2021 19:35

@MrsSchadenfreude that's a helpful suggestion. Thank you. I'll pass it on

My bad if I wrong - this thread www.mumsnet.com/Talk/_chat/4138050-Urgent-name-needed-for-cosmetics-brand

Just shows it's a saturated market and a stand out, original name can be hard to find.

ClaudineClouds · 27/01/2021 19:40

@wowfudge that's not me. My friend mentioned she'd had a bit of a blow today in that her existing name has been trademarked by someone else and she found out about this due to a cease and desist letter arriving.

She was using her own name in the branding but it's a popular ish Persian name. Hence I said I'd ask on here because why not ? She would like to still have a nod to her Persian roots

OP posts:
wowfudge · 27/01/2021 20:11

I'm sorry if I've offended you OP. I'd misremembered the circumstances of the other thread. Must be upsetting for your friend given the circumstances. Aside from her Persian roots, what sets her products apart or is there a specific, notable ingredient?

LaPoesieEstDansLaRue · 27/01/2021 20:51

Hammam?
