Richmond School Help - Darell and The Russell

Sarala29 · 27/01/2021 12:10

Hi - is there anyone who can help me with school advice for my 5 year old. We have just moved into East Sheen and none of our preferred schools had places available. The closest schools with spaces are The Russell Primary and Darell Primary. Does anyone have any idea about these schools.

Admittedly, the commute to Russell will be quite a trek, but we are willing to consider it.

Also, realistically what would be the chances of getting into our preferred schools via a waitlist?

Thanks.

My son is in Year 4 at Darell and thriving. The staff is INCREDIBLE and it’s the most wonderful school - nurturing, creative, academic, inclusive, diverse. The children are tolerant, thoughtful and kind. The twitter feed - @darellschool will give you a flavour, but do talk to the headteacher, Joe Porter.

Thank you @Intagli0. It's nice to know that Darell so well liked by parents.Smile

I used to do some work at Darrell and found it a very nurturing school

Another mum with Darell kids here. My youngest has loved it there and my eldest really misses the place now he is at high school. The teaching staff worked wonders during lockdown, I saw at first hand how hard they worked to engage the children in their learning whilst still making it fun. It's a school that likes to interact with the local community, led by a head teacher and staff that seem to be a lovely proactive team.
