I know the obvious answer is "don't play football in the snow stupid!" but I'm pretty happy that my teens have decided to get back outside and play football together - they were in hobby teams before the pandemic and both sporty, but the younger teen in particular has become increasingly sedentary since the lockdowns and halt on team sports, and has only left the house when dragged on a walk a few times per week.
We've had snow on the ground for 3 weeks with no sign it's going to melt or stop snowing any time soon.
Apparently football boots would get ruined and fall apart in snow, so they've been playing in their waterproof, heavy duty winter trainer style hiking/ running shoes - apparently they're really bad for football...
They've been outside playing football for about 2 hours each day for the last 4 days, and I'd love that to continue.
Would any other footwear be better?
