Vacuum cleaner recommendation please

We currently have a Dyson animal V8. I haven't been impressed at all. It keeps cutting out despite being fully charged and hairs etc get clogged round the roller.

Any recommendations for a reliable vacuum that can cope well with guinea pig hay??

Try a Henry. Its the one I always sold to builders and they liked it 'cos it could cope with "the rough stuff".

BUT... You shouldn't REALLY vacuum anything large. A vacuum cleaner is meant for picking up dust. They were designed to replace the dreadful job of beating your carpets. Thus, anything big enough should be swept from the carpet using a brush, followed by vacuuming to pick up the particles too small for sweeping. It is a common "cheat" to use your vacuum cleaner instead of a brush but it really does bugger the machine. Follow the mantra "if you can see it, you should sweep it"

Miele cat and dog, sucks the pattern off your carpet
